The Fortinet browser based management GUI is all you really need to manage the Fortinet appliances. It is one of the better ones we have used as it is intuitive and feature rich.

And for those of you who still prefer the command line approach, we have used this also and it is very well documented. Telnet and SHH are supported. Further, the web GUI has a command line console access window which is quite unique and powerful.
